Lemonade Lab Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 3, 2025
Last Updated: May 1, 2026
Welcome to Lemonade Lab. These Terms of Service govern your use of the Lemonade Lab website, app, platform, shops, quests, dashboards, AI tools, payment features, and related services.
In these Terms, “Lemonade Lab,” “we,” “our,” and “us” mean Lemonade Lab. “Services” means the Lemonade Lab platform and related services. “User,” “you,” and “your” mean anyone who uses Lemonade Lab, including kids, students, parents, guardians, educators, customers, and visitors.
By using Lemonade Lab, you agree to these Terms.
Lemonade Lab helps kids create ideas, build shops, complete quests, learn entrepreneurship, and safely explore real world business building.
1. Who Can Use Lemonade Lab
Kids may use Lemonade Lab to create ideas, complete quests, build private projects, and explore the platform.
Some features require parent or guardian approval, especially for younger kids. For users under 13, Lemonade Lab may require parent or guardian approval before the user can:
- Publish a shop publicly.
- Sell products or services.
- Communicate with customers.
- Receive or withdraw funds.
- Use features that require us to collect, use, or share personal information in a way that requires parent consent by law.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their child’s use of Lemonade Lab, especially when approving public shops, sales, customer interactions, payments, wallet features, withdrawals, or other public or financial features.
Educators may use Lemonade Lab with students if they are authorized by their school, organization, or program to do so.
We may limit, restrict, or require approval for certain features based on age, safety, legal requirements, payment provider requirements, or platform rules.
2. Accounts
Lemonade Lab may offer kid accounts, parent accounts, educator accounts, customer accounts, and visitor access.
You agree to provide accurate information and keep account login details secure.
Parent accounts may be used to approve or manage a child’s public shop, permissions, payouts, wallet activity, privacy settings, and account deletion requests.
Educator accounts may be used to create classes, invite students, assign activities, and view student progress. Educators cannot manage student funds or override parent permissions.
We may suspend or restrict an account if we believe it is being misused, contains inaccurate information, creates safety concerns, or violates these Terms.
3. Using Lemonade Lab
You agree to use Lemonade Lab lawfully, safely, and respectfully.
You must not:
- Misuse, disrupt, hack, scrape, or reverse engineer the Services.
- Collect or expose another user’s personal information without permission.
- Harass, threaten, bully, exploit, deceive, or harm another user.
- Contact kids outside approved Lemonade Lab channels.
- Upload false, misleading, harmful, illegal, unsafe, or inappropriate content.
- Sell prohibited, unsafe, illegal, age restricted, or inappropriate products or services.
- Use Lemonade Lab for spam, scams, fraud, impersonation, money laundering, or deceptive activity.
- Violate applicable laws, school rules, payment provider rules, or third party rights.
We may remove content, restrict features, block shops, review activity, or suspend accounts if we believe there is a safety, legal, privacy, payment, fraud, or platform integrity concern.
4. Shops, Products, and Services
Lemonade Lab lets kids create shops and offer products or services, subject to platform rules and any required parent or guardian approval.
A kid’s shop is not owned by Lemonade Lab. Lemonade Lab provides the tools, platform, safety systems, and payment related infrastructure that help the shop operate.
Users are responsible for making sure shop content, product listings, service descriptions, prices, images, claims, and customer promises are accurate, safe, lawful, and appropriate.
Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing and approving public shops, sales, fulfillment, customer promises, refunds, returns, and withdrawals where parent approval is required.
Lemonade Lab may remove, reject, restrict, or require changes to any shop, product, service, listing, or customer communication if we believe it may be unsafe, misleading, inappropriate, unlawful, infringing, impractical to fulfill, or inconsistent with the platform.
5. Prohibited Products and Services
Users may not sell or promote products or services that are illegal, unsafe, age restricted, harmful, misleading, exploitative, or inappropriate for a kid focused platform.
This includes, without limitation:
- Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, cannabis, drugs, or controlled substances.
- Weapons, fireworks, explosives, or dangerous items.
- Adult, sexual, dating, or sexually suggestive products or services.
- Gambling, betting, raffles, lotteries, or games of chance.
- Financial products, loans, crypto assets, investments, or speculative trading products.
- Medical products, prescription products, health claims, or regulated products.
- Counterfeit, stolen, pirated, or infringing goods.
- Products or services that promote hate, harassment, violence, self harm, discrimination, exploitation, or abuse.
- Anything Lemonade Lab determines is unsafe, inappropriate, high risk, or inconsistent with the platform.
6. Payments, Wallets, and Withdrawals
Lemonade Lab may support payments, sales, wallet balances, refunds, withdrawals, and related financial features through third party payment providers.
All payment features are subject to the rules and availability of our payment providers.
For users under 13, withdrawals require parent or guardian approval. Lemonade Lab may also require parent or guardian approval for withdrawals by older minors, depending on applicable law, payment provider requirements, account settings, or platform rules.
We may delay, restrict, reverse, refund, hold, or refuse a payment, wallet activity, sale, or withdrawal if we believe there may be fraud, error, chargeback risk, unauthorized activity, safety concerns, legal concerns, payment provider restrictions, or violation of these Terms.
Lemonade Lab may charge fees for subscriptions, platform features, payment processing, shop running costs, withdrawals, shipping related services, or other paid features. Fees will be shown where required before purchase, subscription, transaction, or withdrawal.
Wallet balances are not bank accounts, savings accounts, or investment accounts. They do not earn interest.
Users, parents, and guardians are responsible for any tax, reporting, customer, fulfillment, refund, or legal obligations connected to shop activity, sales, earnings, and withdrawals.
7. Shipping, Fulfillment, Returns, and Customer Issues
If a shop sells physical products or services that require delivery or fulfillment, the user and, where applicable, the parent or guardian are responsible for making sure the product or service can be delivered safely, lawfully, accurately, and on time.
Lemonade Lab may provide tools for order management, shipping labels, customer communication, refunds, returns, or dispute support. These tools may depend on third party providers.
Users must not publish a kid’s private address, school, personal contact information, or other sensitive personal information in a public shop or customer communication.
8. Safety and Moderation
Lemonade Lab may use automated systems, AI assisted review, human review, reporting tools, content controls, account restrictions, and other safety measures to help protect users and maintain trust.
We may review, flag, block, restrict, remove, or escalate content, communications, shops, products, services, transactions, or account activity if we believe there may be a safety, privacy, fraud, legal, abuse, grooming, exploitation, harassment, payment, or platform integrity concern.
We may notify parents, guardians, educators, schools, customers, law enforcement, regulators, or other appropriate parties where we believe it is necessary to protect users, comply with law, investigate concerns, or enforce these Terms.
Lemonade Lab works to provide safety protections, but we do not guarantee that all harmful, unsafe, inaccurate, or inappropriate content or conduct will be detected or prevented.
9. Privacy
Your use of Lemonade Lab is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information.
For users under 13, we may require parent or guardian consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information in ways that require consent by law.
Educators and schools are responsible for making sure their use of Lemonade Lab complies with applicable privacy laws, school policies, district policies, and any required parent or guardian approvals.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Lemonade Lab Property
Lemonade Lab owns or licenses the Lemonade Lab platform, including our software, code, technology, templates, quests, curriculum, safety systems, moderation systems, payment infrastructure, user interface, designs, graphics, names, trademarks, logos, branding, and related intellectual property.
You may not copy, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, reproduce, sell, license, or otherwise use Lemonade Lab intellectual property without our permission, except as allowed through normal use of the Services.
10.2 User Content
Lemonade Lab does not claim ownership of the original content that users create, upload, submit, or publish on Lemonade Lab, including shop content, product descriptions, images, artwork, logos, names, videos, written materials, and other creative materials.
As between you and Lemonade Lab, you retain ownership of your original content, subject to applicable law, third party rights, and these Terms.
Lemonade Lab does not claim ownership over a kid’s business, shop content, brand concept, or original creative expression.
However, intellectual property laws generally protect original creative expression, not ideas, concepts, business methods, themes, short phrases, facts, or general opportunities by themselves. Lemonade Lab is not responsible for preventing other users from creating similar ideas, businesses, products, services, names, themes, or concepts.
10.3 License to Lemonade Lab
By creating, uploading, submitting, publishing, or displaying content on Lemonade Lab, you grant Lemonade Lab a limited, worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to host, store, copy, display, publish, process, transmit, moderate, adapt for technical purposes, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, protect, improve, promote, and support Lemonade Lab, the user’s shop, and related services.
This license lets Lemonade Lab display shops, show products or services to customers, process orders, support dashboards, review content for safety, provide customer support, improve platform functionality, and promote shops or platform activity within Lemonade Lab.
Lemonade Lab will not sell, transfer, or separately commercialize a kid’s original content outside Lemonade Lab without parent or guardian approval, except where reasonably necessary to operate the Services, comply with law, enforce these Terms, protect users, or prevent harm, fraud, abuse, or misuse.
10.4 AI Assisted Content
Lemonade Lab may provide tools that help users create or improve content using artificial intelligence or other automated technologies.
Users retain any rights they may have in their own original contributions to AI assisted content.
However, Lemonade Lab does not guarantee that AI generated or AI assisted content is eligible for copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property protection, or that any user will have exclusive rights in that content.
Users are responsible for reviewing AI assisted content before publishing it and for making sure it does not infringe the rights of others, violate these Terms, or mislead customers.
10.5 Third Party Rights
Users may not upload, publish, sell, or use content that infringes another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other legal rights.
Lemonade Lab may remove, restrict, suspend, or disable access to content, shops, products, services, or accounts if we believe they may violate these Terms, infringe third party rights, create safety concerns, mislead customers, or expose Lemonade Lab or its users to legal risk.
11. Account Closure and Content Removal
Parents and guardians may request closure of their child’s account or removal of public content connected to that account.
If an account is closed or content removal is requested, Lemonade Lab will take reasonable steps to remove or disable public access to the applicable content, subject to legal, safety, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, tax, payment, backup, and recordkeeping requirements.
We may retain limited records where reasonably necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce these Terms, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain platform security, support completed transactions, process refunds or chargebacks, or protect users.
12. Third Party Services
Lemonade Lab may rely on third party services, including payment processors, shipping providers, AI providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, communication providers, and school tools.
Your use of third party services may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, rules, and fees.
Lemonade Lab is not responsible for third party services, third party content, third party availability, third party errors, or third party actions, except where required by law.
13. No Guaranteed Outcomes
Lemonade Lab helps kids learn and build, but we do not guarantee that any user will make sales, earn money, attract customers, build a successful business, or achieve any specific learning, business, financial, or personal outcome.
Lemonade Lab does not provide legal, tax, financial, investment, accounting, employment, or professional business advice.
14. Limitation of Liability
Lemonade Lab provides the Services on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lemonade Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, failed sales, customer disputes, chargebacks, payment issues, or inability to use the Services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lemonade Lab’s total liability for any claim related to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the amount paid by the user to Lemonade Lab in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100 CAD if no amount was paid.
15. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to Lemonade Lab if we believe:
- These Terms have been violated.
- A user has engaged in unsafe, harmful, fraudulent, misleading, abusive, or unlawful activity.
- A shop, product, service, payment, transaction, communication, or account creates legal, safety, payment, privacy, or platform risk.
- Continued access may harm users, customers, Lemonade Lab, or others.
- We are required or advised to do so by law, payment providers, regulators, schools, service providers, or legal process.
16. Changes to Lemonade Lab or These Terms
We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, tools, subscriptions, pricing, shops, quests, safety systems, AI features, educator tools, payment features, or other parts of Lemonade Lab.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The Effective Date or Last Updated date will reflect the latest version.
If changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users, parents, guardians, or educators.
Your continued use of Lemonade Lab after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
